The first round of voting for 2024 will be held from August 2nd to August 9th. We need your support to continue our streak and secure the Best General Dental Practice title once again. Why Choose Us?

Because we have new newsletter subscribers after Frederick Pride, we wanted to tell them why they should also choose us as their dental practice!

We’re an old-fashioned, privately owned practice. To us you are a unique individual, not a dollar amount. We value your time, and we truly listen to your needs. What is important to us is your health, and our mission is to provide you with the best dental treatment possible.

We strive to make our patients feel welcome and safe in our office. You will be treated with respect and kindness regardless of your age, race, gender identity, religion, economic status, and myriad other differences that make us human beings.

Our award-winning general dental practice consists of an outstanding team of dentists and clinicians.

Our Dentists

Dr. Niraj Patel, Dr. Ellen Hailemelecot, Dr. Harvey Levy

Our doctors are kind, compassionate, and thorough. They take the time to truly listen to patients’ needs and wants, and give them choices regarding treatment plans. They consult with each other about complex cases, and cooperate on procedures. Whether you need an extraction, restorative or cosmetic work, regardless of which of our dentists you see, they will work together to ensure you receive the best treatment a general dentist can provide.

Our Dental and Clerical Team

We are proud of our outstanding team of professionals, many of whom have been with Dr. Harvey Levy & Associates for numerous years – on average, 13.8 years!

There are many reasons for our low employee turnover, which go beyond excellent employee benefits. All of us are united in our commitment to our patients’ oral and general health. All of us are compassionate towards every patient, especially those with special needs, afraid of the dentist, or otherwise vulnerable.

We applaud and celebrate the diversity in our team and in our patient populations. Our team members truly consider each other a work family. We care about each other and we care about you, our patients.

We don’t push treatment

When oral health concerns do arise, we are equipped to treat them quickly and effectively. We will make recommendations for you to evaluate – based on YOUR priorities – and we will educate you to make these decisions by:

  • Explaining what your diagnosis is, and what possible treatments we can offer;
  • Providing the professional opinion of the dentist(s) about which plan is best for you;
  • Presenting financial options, such as our Dental Health Club or your insurance benefits;
  • Reminding you that the decision is yours to make, based on what seems right to you.

We’re Responsive

All of us at Dr. Harvey Levy & Associates pride ourselves on being responsive when you contact our office. When you call during normal business hours, 96% of the time one of our friendly front desk coordinators will pick up the phone. If you don’t have time to call, you can send us an email or text message. We monitor our inboxes all day to make sure that we respond to you as soon as possible. After hours, you can leave a message to which we will respond to the very next business day.

If you have a dental emergency you will be able to reach one of our doctors directly without having to go through an answering service. Reaching a doctor directly can ensure that you’re taken care of quickly, to receive at-home palliative care instructions, to have a prescription sent to your pharmacy, or to refer you to the emergency room.

We are responsive because our patients are truly important to us. Check out our reviews on Google and read what our patients have to say!

Our Commitment to the Community

Dr. Harvey Levy & Associates has provided dental services in the Frederick area since 1984. We feel strongly that Frederick is our home, and we support the city, the county, and neighboring communities as best we can. We do this in many different ways.

  • We are one of the few practices in our region that welcomes patients with special needs and severe dental anxiety.
  • We educate the community: we welcome Interns and Externs from nearby high schools and dental programs, we visit local schools and community programs, and we publish our monthly newsletter .
  • We give back to the community: Each February we provide free dental care to underserved children by participating in the American Dental Association’s “Give Kids a Smile Day”; We offer discounted services to patients in need through local special programs, and during the holiday season we contribute donations to the Frederick County Food Bank and other charitable organizations.

We hope to have given you several reasons to choose us as your dental practice! We invite you to experience our exceptional care and commitment that has earned us recognition in our community. Choose us for your dental needs and become part of our family. Contact us today to schedule your appointment and take the first step toward a healthier, brighter smile.

Honoring our Team Members

To learn more about our team members, visit Our Team page on our website.

MVP –

In July we honored Oscar for presenting the idea of a sponsorship booth at Frederick Pride and for stepping up as the leader of our marketing team before, during, and after Pride.

Invisible Worker Recognition

We also like to recognize a team member – or this month, several team members – who makes our day-to-day operations run smoothly, despite their contribution not being obvious to many of us.

In addition to Oscar, Chelsea and Donna tabled at the Frederick Pride event all day in the sweltering heat. Samantha came in early in the morning to help set up, and returned at the end of the day to help break down our exhibit. Before and after the event, Ryn designed the materials we used at our tent and for people to take home. Ryn also ran the raffle a week later, made a reel, and published it on social media. There was loading up stuff at the office the day before, and unloading stuff at the end of the day. There were many Marketing Team and Leadership Team planning meetings before the event with requests for feedback made to the Front Desk, who enthusiastically supported the event. It takes a village to offer great dental care and to successfully participate in an event like this!

Recipe of the Month: Creamy Lemon Zucchini Orzo

Source: https://www.thissavoryvegan.com/creamy-lemon-zucchini-orzo/

Summer is coming to an end. And this Creamy Lemon Zucchini Orzo is the perfect side that incorporates lots of veggies, is topped with fresh herbs and has a kick of freshness from the lemon juice. It is made creamy with a little vegan parm and non-dairy milk. It is basically the best side dish that you’ll want to serve with everything!

Ingredients

  • 3 large zucchini shredded
  • 1 pound orzo dry
  • 3 tablespoons vegan butter
  • 1 shallot diced
  • 4 cloves garlic diced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup vegan parmesan
  • 1/3 cup non-dairy milk unsweetened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme finely chopped
  • lemon juice to taste, I used 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon vegan bouillon or sub salt
  • fresh herbs for serving, I used basil & oregano

Instructions

  1. Shred the zucchini using a food processor, or by hand. Place a cheese cloth (or clean kitchen towel) over a large bowl and add the shredded zucchini. Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes, then wring out as much liquid from the zucchini as possible. Set aside.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the orzo and cook according to the package instructions. Drain and place the empty pot back on the stove over medium heat.
  3. Melt the vegan butter in the pot, then add the shallot, garlic, oregano, pepper and zucchini. Cook down for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the orzo back to the pan with the remaining ingredients. Toss everything until combined. Taste and adjust lemon juice, salt and/or pepper as needed.
  4. Serve hot with fresh herbs.

Notes

  • FOR LEFTOVERS: As the pasta sits it will firm up slightly. When reheating, just add a splash of non-dairy milk or vegan butter to loosen it up.
